Blu-ray Breakdown: January 22, 2013

Sorry for the lack of updates over the past several weeks, it’s been a busy time around my household.

This week offers up several of early fall’s bigger releases including a COPS style action film, a sex hotline comedy, a death row drama, and several straight to disc releases.  When it comes to catalog releases there are several John Wayne titles, some films from the golden age of Hollywood, and a few low budget B-movies.

Nick’s Blu-ray Pick of the Week: Cujo has been on Blu-ray before but if you’re a fan of this Stephen King adaption it might be worth considering picking up this new Blu-ray available from Olive Films which includes a newly recorded audio commentary and features the original mono soundtrack and a DTS-HD Master Audio monaural.  As a fan of vintage poster artwork I also love the DVD sleeve art which is a lot better than the old Lionsgate Blu-ray.

Other New Releases:

Theatrical Review(s): N/A

Instead of the normal “Throw Your Money Away Instead of Buying…” recommendation I thought I’d recommend a couple other Blu-rays that have come out over the past several weeks.
