We’re back after a couple weeks of much needed vacation with one of the best Blu-ray releases of the year.  Other new releases include a sleeper horror hit, an old folks exotic journey, a “California Gurl’s” concert film, and several new seasons of hit TV shows.  The more vintage releases are more of a mixed bag with couple of Shatner mask sequels, a well timed comic book release, one of Tim Burton’s best films, plus one of the worst sequels I’ve ever seen.

Nick’s Blu-ray Pick of the Week: Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures-  Convincing people to buy Indiana Jones on Blu-ray shouldn’t be too difficult, but it would be a lot easier if Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wasn’t such a disappointment.  Luckily, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, and The Last Crusade are such good films they easily outweigh that unfortunate forth outing.  The Blu-ray release ports over almost all of the previously released DVD special features plus two newly available documentaries, one of which is in HD.  Some will complain that the film’s aren’t available individually, but if you’re on the fence just suck it up and ignore aliens and Shia swinging through the trees.

Other New Releases:

Theatrical Review(s):  The Cabin in the Woods

Throw Your Money Away Instead of Buying… Queen of the Damned.  Queen of the Damned… more like ‘Movie of the Damned’.  Interview with the Vampire is a great film and how that potential franchise ended with this atrocity unfathomable to me.  Stuart Townsend is absolutely terrible as Lestat and thankfully Aaliyah’s death preceded the release of this film by nearly six months to spare her the disgrace of hearing what critics thought of her acting.
