Films like Premium Rush don’t come along often; a film that is both irrelevant and fun, but also has high production values with an enjoyable cast and a capable writer/director.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as Wilee, a New York City bike messenger racing against the clock and a corrupt cop to deliver an important package.  Everyone involved with Premium Rush knows it’s a glorified B-movie which makes it that much easier to enjoy.  Written and directed by Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, he fills the screen with so much energy that there’s hardly dull moment during the 91 minute runtime.  Most of the performances are appropriately one dimensional for a film of this caliber, but nonetheless enjoyable.  Michael Shannon’s role as the corrupt NYPD Detective is one of the film’s strongest components, he once again proves that he can deliver a creepy and unhinged performance with the best of them.  Seeing Premium Rush theatrically isn’t completely nessaccary but if you do you’ll probably have a good time.

Indeed a very precise and quick review — much like the film.

    I’ve commented before, but apparently I can’t include my site — dukeandthemovies.com –
