Nick’s Blu-ray Pick of the Week:  John Carter- Considered by many to be a spectacular financial disaster John Carter is actually a decently entertaining film (read my theatrical review HERE).  It’s too bad that the original source material was so picked over by Hollywood over the past century that most of the ideas presented in John Carter come off as ripped off imitations when in fact the opposite is true.  John Carter lands on Blu-ray in two editions; John Carter 3D- a 4-disc edition including 2D & 3D copies of the film, a DVD, and a Digital Copy and a standard John Carter Blu-ray edition with 2D Blu-ray and a DVD copy.  Extras include Disney Second Screen, Bloopers, deleted scenes, and more.

Theatrical Reviews of Safe House and Gone (see below).

and more… Hondo, The Color of Money, Cocktail, US Marshals, A Perfect World, Bloodwork, Erin Brockovich, Sea of Love, and Seven Days in Utopia

Throw Your Money Away Instead of Buying… Act of Valor.  From my review, “I feel bad criticizing real soldiers for not having much acting talent but there’s no way around the fact that when the Seals are forced to act with words and not guns Act of Valor feels like a big budget America’s Most Wanted segment.”  Read my theatrical review HERE.

There was no Blu-ray Breakdown last week so here are the highlights from the week of May 29, 2012.
