2009′s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra wasn’t exactly a resounding success among fans or critics. While the film was a financial success the powers at be at Paramount wisely choice to part ways with Director Stephen Sommers and most of the cast including Marlon Wayans, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Dennis Quaid, Christopher Eccleston, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Sadly, Joseph Gordon-Levitt who played Cobra Commander which was one of the few bright spots in The Rise of Cobra is also not returning.
The re-tooled G.I. Joe: Retaliation brings on board a new Director, Jon M. Chu, who’s previous film’s include Step Up 2: The Streets, Step Up 3D, and Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. If you’re like me and reading that the director of those films is taking over the G.I. Joe franchise gives you a moment of pause I understand but stranger things have happened right? There is some good news; Channing Tatum and Ray Park are back and joining the cast is Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Ray Stevenson, and Adrianne Palicki, and Jurassic Park’s Joseph Mazzello.
